Federal Ban Dies in the Senate

Update: Federal Ban Dies in the Senate

We are happy to report that the seriously-flawed, ill-considered, Federal ban has died in the Senate.

This piece of legislation, which, in our opinion, was more about scoring political points than about protecting anyone and would have put an onerous burden on scientists, has been delayed indefinitely due to an objection by Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky. The nature of the objection was not specified in the article we read (read the article here).

“These drugs need to be controlled, but they need to be controlled in such a way that there is no harm done to the vital scientific and medical research that we count on,” said U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA).

Is It Really Dead?

While some believe that another bill will not make it into the law for a year or two, others question whether it will be that long. Some in the industry believe that it may only be a matter of months before another bill is introduced. However, an introduction of a bill doesn’t guarantee that it will become law. In our opinion, federal legislation may not be inevitable, but states will likely continue to enact bans.

Meanwhile…

Here at Herbalaxation, we will comply with any and all laws affecting any products we sell. While we may not agree with laws being passed, this country is run through the rule of law, and we respect that.
